Some 22 years ago, my life was forever ruined by the intrusion of a small, drooly thing that grew teeth very quickly. Today she's far away and has to work, but that doesn't mean her big sister (and Deneb) love her any less.

I just went to a 3.5 hour long taiko concert. I didn't know it was going to be 3.5 hours long when it started. Now mind you, I likes me some taiko, but I also like stretching and eating dinner, so I was a bit out of it. The last 5 acts or so were really amazingly kickasss, but the first 14 were mostly elementary/middle schoolers and a couple local community groups who (while frequently adorable) were not so much in the way of skillz.

However, after each number the MC lady would interview 2 of the performers while the groups changed up their instruments. This included a lot talking with chibi's whom she always asked the same questions, the last of which is, "What do you want to be when you grow up?"

Of the four 5 year olds interviewed, both girls wanted to be Pretty Cure. One boy said Go-onger and one Shinkenger.

All this while wearing their little taiko happi coats and twirling their ribbon covered drumsticks. Soran. Soran.

So today Team Kobayashi went down to the city for a meeting for our next English Camp. Afterwards, Senpai wanted to go to the city's big Book-Off. I am always enthusiastic about visiting Book-Off's because they all hold such magical treasures. Aussie was not so keen on it... but 2 to 1. :P

We go in and I peruse the concert DVD section, like ya do. And what do I find? Why a copy of Weiss Kreuz Last Live for 2000 yen. This is maybe the last thing I ever expected to find just sitting on a shelf in a local used shop. It's mine now. I've been flipping through the booklet going... wow... never thought I'd own this. Happy Seki Sunday to me. The other members of the team didn't quite grasp my joy at finding it, but I think it's better that way.

I've been kinda missing from the internet lately, which is mostly for my own health. I spend too much time on this damn computer. But I apologize for leaving like zero comments for everyone. You're beautiful people and I love you, especially februaryfour and mayezinha. I'm usually better about keeping up with the flist, but I'm not feeling it this week.

Last night, I went to bed after a really irritating text message which made it difficult to sleep. I woke up just as irritated. It's stupid, really, and nothing I have any right to be upset about, but I'm still just annoyed. I've decided to stick with my original plan and go see the new Star Trek today... alone... like a winner. I can also maybe get some clothes that fit and some tacos, though I shouldn't spend any of this money right now.

Then M-chan invited me over to have cupcakes. Her mom was really pleased to finally meet me so we chatted for ages, and then her dad came home from a nomikai very tipsy with his equally tipsy friend and it was really just too funny to leave. Some of it involved M-chan's exercise hula hoop...

I still have to get up at 6am...

So last night, M-chan and I were walking home and took the shortcut through the technical school's parking lot. She comments on how creepy the school is that late at night, and I say, "Yeah, I expect zombies any minute." Cuz I do expect zombies. Always. Constant Vigilance. She's apparently really easily creeped out, so I proceed to explain that no we're fine! This is a great location for a zombie attack. A) I've got my bike which is a great weapon and escape device. She's carrying both a lighter and alcohol. And we have this great gapless chainlink fence to use as a barricade/lure: Zombie sees me, Zombie follows me to fence and gets stuck, I throw makeshift molotov cocktail at zombie from safe distance. Done and done.

So she's trying to tell me about some sort of zombie comedy bit, but the language barrier is preventing us a little. This morning, I woke up to this YouTube links. If you like zombies and traumatizing children for life, check out this link. It's all subbed too.

This is so something my dad would have done to me had he thought about it.

In happier news, today was the best day in the history of mail. I got my Arashi fan membership, my case of Dr. Pepper, and my Deneb hand puppet with sound.

It's the little things that help me not kill myself after 55 episodes of X-family.

My Arashi Fan Club packet came today. A big yellow ARASHI envelope welcoming me to the Johnny's family. It also came with my first newlsetter featuring a big spread on Aiba's new play and Uta no Onii-san.

I am now that much more lame and will carry my fan club card on my person at all times... inside my Den-o card case...
